American crows are located in a variety of habitats and are the "Backyard Birds of South Dakota". They are located throughout the state and gather in large roosts. They usually feed on the ground.
The crow hunting season runs from the middle of September to November and then runs again from March to the end of April. They are located all throughout the state.
Like all small game hunting in the state you must apply for a license. To learn more about the hunting dates and licensing information please check our South Dakota Hunting License page.
