Seth Tupper was born and raised in South Dakota and earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from South Dakota State University in 2001. After college, he worked at a newspaper in Minnesota and then returned to South Dakota in 2003 to join the staff of The Daily Republic in Mitchell, where he is currently the city hall reporter and assistant editor. Seth has won numerous awards for his writing, including the 2007 Outstanding Young Journalist award in the daily newspapers category of the South Dakota Newspaper Association's Better Newspapers Contest.
Seth's day-job and freelance work have granted him opportunities to meet hundreds of South Dakotans and travel across much of the state. He also spends a lot of his free time exploring South Dakota's state and national parks, hiking trails and kayak-friendly rivers.
Jennifer Noble is the type of person who reads a sign posted for an event in her community and then goes. The best of her discoveries turn into stories surfacing online or in magazines. She's explored worlds of travel, business and weddings, writing for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Wedding Guide, AAA's Home & Away as well as contributing to Etc. for Her in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is also published in “I'm Glad I'm a Mom” through Harvest House Publishers. With her research for SouthDakota.com, the dominant theme was finding rich character and honor in the efforts of citizens across the state. The diligence of these small towns and cities speaks volumes about the quality of life residents witness everyday. For visitors, they may find themselves absorbing the culture and remembering that “special something” in South Dakota.
