Each year over 90,000 people come to South Dakota for JazzFest, 2 days of South Dakota’s best jazz music. Jazzfest is held each summer at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, and features premier performers on 2 different stages.  And don’t be surprised if you hear more than just jazz music, Jazzfest also showcases blues, Zydeco, Latin, reggae, big band, rock, soul and funk among others.

JazzFest attracts big name entertainers like Keb’ Mo’ and Bettye LaVette, and also promotes up and coming jazz musicians on their second stage.  In addition to music, great food and drink are also available on the JazzFest grounds.

JazzFest encourages children to attend with a special JazzQuest area where kids can do activities like face painting, arts and crafts, musical games and other activities.

If you want an insider’s view of JazzFest, consider volunteering.  Each year JazzFest utilizes a cadre of volunteers to help put on the festival.  In addition to hearing great jazz and other types of music, volunteers receive a JazzFest t-shirt with an exclusive design.
