Mitchell woman on ‘American Idol’

Though she so far has not appeared on the television show for more than a few fleeting seconds, Mitchell resident Rebecca Culhane is apparently in the running to become the next "American Idol."

That’s judging from a video on the "Idol" website, which is embedded below, and a photo of Culhane that’s also on the site.

Culhane describes herself as a married, 25-year-old mother of two. She has songs available for free playing on numerous Internet sites, and her original song "Outstanding" is featured in a Sanford Health television commercial about a woman imagining a future pregnancy.

UPDATE, 2/24/11: Culhane was eliminated in the Hollywood round.
