Parade magazine: One of ‘America’s Greatest Train Rides’ is in S.D.

My Saturday newspaper comes with Parade magazine inserted into it. When I saw that Parade’s cover story this week is about "America’s Greatest Train Rides," I wondered if one of the rides might be in South Dakota.

Sure enough, there on Page 5 is a listing of "Unforgettable Day Trips by Rail" that includes the Black Hills Central Railroad, aka the 1880 Train:

For a unique vantage point on two of our national parks, try the … Black Hills Central Railroad near Mt. Rushmore, a two-and-a-half-hour tour of South Dakota’s Black Hills.

That’s about as brief as publicity gets, but it’s a national publication. Congrats to the 1880 Train, one of South Dakota’s great attractions.
