Originally organized in 1989 as South Dakota's first professional sports team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce are a fan favorite in the state.  Part of the Sioux Falls community from the very beginning, the Skyforce were named by locals in a "name the team" contest, and have been locally owned since 1993. But the Skyforce aren't just about court time. In addition to the stellar ball-handling and shooting skills on the court, the Skyforce also spends quality time off the court focusing on the local community with projects like the Sky's the Limit Youth Foundation, Operation Cares, Roger D. Larsen Benefit Golf Tournament, and a Special Forces program which distributes game tickets to children who might not otherwise be able to attend a game.

Although spending a night with the Skyforce is mostly about the game itself, you will find the rest of the evening entertaining as well.  With a full schedule of halftime contests and promotions, the Skyleaders dance team, the Hip Hop Kids and Skyfunk, and Thunder the Skyforce Mascot, the Skyforce know how to keep the crowd happy.  Throughout the season the Skyforce also host special events like the Allegiant Air Trivia, or the Royal Treatment promotion where the winner will receive a limousine ride, dinner at Famous Dave's, and four Lower Empire tickets.
