South Dakota offers some of the best antelope hunting you will find in the nation. The speedy antelopes offer a great challenge for a hunter of any skill level. The state offers licenses for both archery and firearm.
The South Dakota antelope hunting season varies based on what you are applying for. But it usually starts in October and runs through December.
Antelope can be found all throughout the western and central regions of the state.
Like all big game hunting in the state you must apply for a license. The licenses are issued in a lottery type system to help maintain the population. To learn more about the hunting dates and licensing information please check our South Dakota Hunting License page.
