Sturgis Campgrounds erupt with excitement and fun every fall when the world famous Sturgis Motorcyle Rally takes place. Every August the population in Sturgis swells from 6,000 to upwards of 400,000 as bikers arrive to enjoy the fun and excitement of the Rally. The campgrounds at Sturgis offer a great place for Rally goers to stay as it’s close to the Rally activities, but also is only a short drive to all the great attractions located in the Black Hills – including Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial.
Each campground in Sturgis does offer a great safe-haven and place to relax from all the main Rally events – and most offer their own forms of entertainment as well. But don’t be mistaken, Sturgis is a great place to stay all year around. Some of the campgrounds are open all year and provide all the great amenities you would expect in a campground regardless of when you stay there.
